Haha this sounds like something I would have done. I can easily imagine that glorious moment of uncovering that speedy portal to the roadway.
I used to entertain myself by (this is weird, but you asked) picturing Sonic the Hedgehog running along the side of the road, parkouring his way across all the obstacles and running up and down the powerlnes. Kids are weird haha.

Ah. Anytime kids are quiet you know they are up to something. My sister, brother and I would torture each other and alter our senses to amuse ourselves.

We went on lots of long drives when we were young. My parents were divorced, and it was my mom’s cheap “entertainment” for us. The drive always ended at the ice cream place for us, too. I still remember how mad we’d get when Mom wouldn’t get any ice cream for herself, but would eat some of each of our cones.
So funny that you two stuffed the Kleenex out of the bottom of the car. I can totally picture the whole scene.
We took one road trip as kids, and to occupy ourselves, we occupied other drivers. We took our shoes off, rolled our socks all the way down until they sat just on our toes, and drew faces on the bottoms of our feet. We laid down in the back of the station wagon and stuck our feet faces out the back window.

If you don't comment, then I'm just talking to myself -- and I do too much of that already.
